THE ISSUES AT HAND

Universal Healthcare
for All

There is no reason that anyone in the 4 th district of Missouri, or anyone in this country, should not have access to qualified healthcare. And I will fight to get rid of the ridiculous insurance company “prior authorization” approvals! Let’s take the decisions for our medical procedures away from the insurance companies and put them back in the hands of our doctors!

Economy

Economy. Stop the tariffs immediately. Increase the minimum wage. I also support the proposal in Congress for the Keep The Pay bill, where individuals making under $75,000 per year do not have to pay taxes until they reach that threshold. But I would take it further and include small business start-ups. No tax until they reach a revenue of $75,000.

Support for Veterans

We have an enormous obligation to take care of our men and women who wear, and have worn the uniform. There are not enough VA facilities in the rural communities of the 4 th District. Some veterans face a 90 minute drive to the nearest VA. I want to build some smaller VA clinics that will provide access to all of these heroes that include mental health specialists. And no veteran over 65, or that has a 100% disability rating should ever have to pay property taxes.

Agriculture

Every farmer and farm family in the 4 th district will lose money on every crop this year, because of insane prices for feed and fertilizer. I will restore the farm subsidies they need to exist and work to improve Missouri’s renewable energy resources through funding and the creation or completion of infrastructure projects, that must be a top priority to lessen the reliance on coal, natural gas and imported electricity.

First Amendment Right

As a longtime broadcaster, I am appalled at what is happening with the absolute obliteration of our freedom of speech. The FCC needs to be totally dismantled, and reworked with a level of protection of the first amendment.

Affordable Housing

Affordable housing. It is a crisis in the 4 th district and all across our nation. I support a rent cap of 5%, just like the provision in the Tenant Protection Act in California. And I would support a tax credit for all developers who offer truly affordable rates to first-time homebuyers.
